Job Description

Cole Valley Gan, a non-profit, play-based home day care preschool is growing and looking to hire a co-Preschool Teacher to work alongside our lead teacher. The hours for this position are 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM and the position opens on August 14, 2024.

 

Cole Valley Gan has specific beliefs and philosophies regarding its child-led, play-based curriculum and empathic, respectful interactions with young children. We offer one mixed age classroom with a low teacher/child ratio, for children ages 18 months- 3 years. We promote an environment where children can develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills for a successful and meaningful life. We are excited to welcome new team members to our school

 

Responsibilities Include

• Supervise children to ensure they are safe at all times

• Implementing age appropriate experiences for the children.

• Observe each child to help them improve their social competencies and build self-esteem.

• Encourage children to interact with each other and help them learn the skills necessary for proper social interaction.

• Guide children to develop their artistic and practical capabilities through a carefully constructed curriculum (identify shapes, numbers or colors, do crafts etc.)

• Work together as a team with the other teachers and Director.

• Maintain a clean and tidy classroom.

 

Job Requirement

• Be able to commit to daily, based on the days that preschool is in session (calendar will be provided).

• Have a smiling, happy and calm attitude.

• Must love children and enjoy caring for them.

• Be open to learning and adapting to approaches in how to talk/play with kids to align with the director's educational philosophy .

• To submit a background clearance and fill out state mandated forms to be able to teach in a licensed home day care.

• Speak English

• Knowledge of Jewish traditions is a plus

• Paid sick/personal days

• Compensation is based on experience and education, between $29- $35 per
  hour
